Since 1995, I have been offering parent groups and supporting families facing challenges with their young and school age children.
I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Campbell, and am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT45249), registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. I am a member of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists for both Santa Clara Valley and the State of California.
I have a particular interest in children who are gifted, talented and twice-exceptional learners.I am formerly a board member for California Association for the Gifted in California and the active with our local Santa Lucia region GATE advocates, and maintain a membership in National Association for the Gifted.I am a certified SENG-Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted-Model Parent Group Facilitator.
I have supported numerous families and children with behavioral and emotional problems in my work with Eastfield Ming Quong, Bill Wilson Center, Community Health Awareness Council and Starlight Community Services in 1999, and I have offered a variety of therapy, support and educational groups since that time.
I enjoyed a 14-year career in public health education in reproductive health and oncology prior to becoming a therapist.I worked with organizations including American Social Health Association, Planned Parenthood, Northern California Cancer Center & National Cancer Institute and Kaiser Permanente Medical Group.In 2004, I received certification from the Children’s Treehouse Foundation in Colorado as a CLIMB-Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery-support group model for children with a parent with cancer.
